Felt the program could have included lunch when we were done at their deli for the price we paid. In our opinion we received a personalized one on one tour behind the scenes. However, others may have been disappointed if all they did was deliver food to the animals. I really did enjoy it and am glad we had this opportunity. Based on the description on line and the cost I was expecting more. We spent the morning filling feed buckets and then went behind the scenes feeding the animals on the 400 acres. While I thoroughly enjoyed this experience it was not quite what I expected. The next day we did the Keeper For The Day - a.m. The price is comparsble to what you would pay for a bed and breakfast so you are paying for the experience. We spent one evening at the Safari West and were thrilled! This was a unique experience. If you aren't a Peanuts fan, then the museum visit would not last long, unless you watched the ongoing Peanuts or Schultz biography videos playing in the theatre, or drew cartoons in the room upstairs. We stayed in Santa Rosa the next night, so that we could visit the Charles Schultz museum - which is perfect for Peanuts cartoon fans. As an adult, I could have slept on the bunk beds, alongside one of my kids. Our kids loved the bunk beds with the full-size (or double-size?) mattresses. Since we were in the cottage, we had a thermostat controlling all the rooms (so we were nice and warm) and we only heard the nearby lemurs scream once around 10pm, once at 7am, then again at 8am. We were allowed to eat our bag dinner outside Delilah's Cafe and we bought beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks that were available until 7pm.

I would have eaten everything, based on the dinner menu. That dinner included s'mores, though, which would have been fun to do. My kids are picky and my spouse is a vegetarian, so they may not have eaten much at the dinner you could book in advance. I was extremely happy there was a microwave and refrigerator to heat our burrito dinner that we brought. cottage (more expensive than tents) because there weren't any tents left for 4 people when I reserved online.

But, they were hungry when we got off (12:30pm) and would not have had the attention span if we took a walking tour after the jeep ride. old couldn't believe the tour was over after 2.5 hrs. Otherwise, the tour will seem to go by quickly. If you have a child that is not interested in the animals and learning/listening for 2 hrs., then it's going to be a loooong ride. Travis was a great speaker and kept our attention the entire time with many stories about his personal interaction with the animals when caring/feeding them. on jeep) for your group when you check-in. I don't know if you can request this order (walk, then ride for 2 hr.

After the very interesting 1/2 hour walking tour, our guide gave us a bathroom break, which was perfect timing for kids and adults since it was a couple hours after breakfast. Like other tour groups scheduled for l0 am, since there were already a couple jeeps on the road, our guide Travis first walked us around the area where the animals were in an enclosed environment.
